We are excited to announce the launch of the African Editors Forum at AREF 2025 in Ghana—a continental network of editors committed to advancing excellence in scholarly publishing on Africa and by Africans.
This Forum is open strictly to individuals who are currently running and actively managing academic or practitioner journals that focus on Africa or promote African content. It offers a platform to strengthen editorial quality, democratise knowledge dissemination, and amplify African perspectives across disciplines.
Membership Benefits Include:
- Access to collaborative networks, peer learning, and editorial resources
- Eligibility for sponsorships and micro-grants to support open access publishing and editorial development
- Exclusive access to publishing tools and indexing support through Porthologos Press’ 5th World Publishing Services
- Participation in workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities

- Must be actively involved in managing a journal or scholarly platform with a focus on Africa

- Short CV detailing editorial or publishing experience
- Statement of interest (300-500 words) outlining your current work, commitment to the Forum's goals, and vision for African scholarship
